Summer Feast Recipes

The email you’ve been waiting for… we’ve got a bumper issue of our newsletter today. As promised here’s the Somekind Christmas Menu.
After cooking all 12 recipes (including the salsas), the five taste testers around the table discussed their general impressions of the menu. The consensus? — that it really reflects fresh summery vibes — seafood in abundance, the colourful salsas, the floral notes of fruits and of course the showstopper of a dessert that is the Tom McHugo’s Brewer’s Malt Pie. This little number appeared in our 2nd ever newsletter and still to this day we have people requesting this recipe. We listened, and have included it once more for our new subscribers. We finally road-tested this recipe, and we can see what the fuss is all about. It really was ‘wort’ the effort, and if you want to make an impression this Christmas, this pie is a good starting point.
Oysters with Rice Wine Vinaigrette
The combination of rice wine vinegar, a little bit of sugar, red onion and a hint of heat from the ginger is a perfect dressing for this classic starter.
At Somekind™, we think it’s only fair that our authors take the majority of the profit, with the proceeds split between ALL our creative contributors. We strongly believe in the importance of community – in its ability to enrich and transform our lives, to lift us up and make us into something so much more than we would be if we stood alone. And that starts here.
We also believe in the environment, so we’ll be avoiding using any fancy finishes on our books that might render them less than 100% recyclable. After all, the last thing the earth needs is any more unnecessary damage done to it, right?
But above all else, our promise is to make good books for good people.
And to keep telling interesting stories.
How our Crowd-funded Publishing Model Works
Titles are made available for pre-order for a period of 10 business days.
In this time, the title needs to meet a minimum pre-order number of 100 copies in order for work to commence.
If pre-order demand is not met, then the site will effectively act as a crowdfunding site and will forward all generated money (minus our $50 listing fee) to the Author/Venue. There are no refunds.
We will not upload a book for pre-order if we do not expect it to reach 100 copies, however, we cannot control demand for each title.
Turnaround time from approval to printed books in the mail is generally 8-12 weeks, though this may vary if we encounter unexpected delays in the manufacturing process.
